Day 1
We depart between 6h00-8h00 in the morning from Johannesburg and Pretoria as previously agreed. We enjoy padkos on the bus but regular stops are made. The road is long and legs are short. We sleep at Mapungubwe, Tsugulu lodge for the night. Dinner is a one-dish meal with salads.
Day 2 – 3
Every day starts with coffee and rusks. Lizette bakes the rusks herself, just don’t ask her for the recipe. We explore Mapungwube. Those who get the chance can climb the Mapungubwe rock with the guides. It really is a very interesting history of the people and their rock fortress, not included in the price. We stay at Leokwe. There is a lot to see, the confluence, Museum, the old army fortress from days gone by. You can also tour the Mapungubwe mountain at a extra cost of R350-00 per person
We enjoy brunch every day around 10:00am.
We tour all day looking for all that is beautiful.
In the evening we enjoy a braai or a potjie under the stars next to the campfire.
Day 3 – 6
We leave Mapungubwe and enter Kruger at Pafuri gate. We explore the north of Kruger and slowly move down to Mopani camp where we will spend the last 3 night at Xanatseni guest house. On the last day we leave the Kruger at Phalaborwa gate. We try to be out no later than 9h00 and reach Pretoria by 16h00 and Johannesburg by 17h30.
We greet the lowveld and our guests and await the next discussion.
Thank you everyone and hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
